Breast cancer is the most prevalent form of cancer in Pakistan, where the country holds the unfortunate distinction of having the highest breast cancer rate in Asia. Alarming statistics show that one in nine women in Pakistan is at risk of developing breast cancer during her lifetime. Globally, breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths among women, and in 2020 alone, over 13,500 women in Pakistan lost their lives to this disease.
In response to this critical public health issue, Siha has partnered with Roche, a global leader in healthcare, to combat breast cancer through various initiatives. This collaboration focuses on raising awareness about the disease, providing essential screenings, and supporting women who are unable to afford treatment. The partnership aims to improve early detection rates and ensure that underserved populations have access to the care they need, ultimately working to reduce the mortality rate of breast cancer in Pakistan.
